Rafting FAQ

    • How long is the trip?
      • Big Eddy is a 3 mile section of the Deschutes River located just south of Bend Oregon.  A trip down Big Eddy takes an hour on the water and 90 min door to door from Seventh Mountain Resort.
    • How do I get to the river? Where do we meet?
      • We meet at the gift shop located at Seventh Mountain Resort.
      • As you drive onto the property please park in either of the 2 parking lots located just to your right.
      • To find our office please walk up the pathways where you will see the “Outfitter Park” with picnic tables and yard games.  The Outfitter bar is located at the end of the boardwalk to your right.  We are located on the patio just past the bar and before the pools.
    • Who is this trip appropriate for?
      • This is a family friendly trip.  We recommend ages 6 and up.  The only real requirement is the participant must be able to wear an approved PFD.  Our PFD’s fit from 45 lbs. to a chest size of 58 inches.
      • If you have a health concern or are pregnant, please consult your doctor.
    • Can my group all go together in the raft?
      • We do everything we can to keep groups together.  Rafts hold 6 to 9 depending on the size of the paddlers and water levels.  Boat splits and assignments are up to the guides at the put in as they know the current conditions.
      • Groups that are larger than a raft will be split into 2 rafts.  This is better for water fighting and you can watch the other boat run the rapids.
      • If you want a private raft you can pay for 7 seats with a group of 6.
    • How is your trip different than Sun Country Tours?
      • We are the only 2 companies permitted by the forest service to guide on Big Eddy.  We operate on the same section of river and offer the same tour.  SCT operates out of Sunriver and Bend and is able to bus people from those vacation getaways.
      • We are located just a couple of miles from the put in and have less overhead so we can offer the same trip for less.
      • With both companies being great it can be difficult to decide, so please look at our trip advisor reviews.
