BEND/CENTRAL OREGON:

DESCHUTES RIVER

  • UPPER DECHUTES RIVER Trail Map: Scenic multi-use trail connecting Bend and Sun River. Trail is accessible from Seventh Mountain Resort and follows the Deschutes river past Dillon, Benham, and Lava Island Falls. (Link)
  • DECHUTES RIVER/OLD MILL REC PATHS: Paved and dirt recreation path system around the Old Mill including the popular Healy Loop south of town along wooded portions of the Deschutes river. (Link)

CASCADE LAKES/MT. BACHELOR

  • CASCADE LAKES HIGHWAY: Part of Oregon’s Wild and Scenic Highway system, this route accesses some of Central Oregon’s best high alpine lakes and vistas. (Link)
  • SPARKS LAKE: One of the larger Cascade Lakes, this area offers hiking, camping and scenic views of Mount Bachelor, the Three Sisters mountains, and Broken Top. (Link)
  • TUMALO MOUNTAIN: Located directly across from Mount Bachelor Resort, Tumalo Mountain offers a quick intermediate hike which rewards with 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains. (Link)

GREATER BEND aREA

  • TUMALO FALLSMinutes from downtown Bend. Tumalo Falls is a great quick hiking option with majestic views of a nearly 100 foot tall waterfall on Tumalo Creek, not far from the parking lot. (Link)
  • SMITH ROCK: World famous among climbers, Smith Rock State Park is a High Desert must. It’s desert canyons along the Crooked River offer a stark contrast to the lush landscape of the Cascade Lakes Region. (Link)
  • STEELHEAD FALLS: West of Crooked River Ranch near Terrebonne, Steelhead Falls is one of the Deschutes river’s numerous scenic recreation areas. (Link)
